773.0. "find address on 1.1.14B field test version" by CSC32::PITT () Mon Feb 28 1994 09:23

    
    Customer has MMAHWMSU11E installed, (it comes up as IFT 1.1.14B),
    over Ultrix v4.3. 
    
    WHen he clicks on 'find address' he gets the 'wristwatch' but it never
    comes back (he's let it sit at the watch for over a day). 
    
    Can anyone fill me in on this field test version and if this is a bug??

	??? What product?? Now I'm really confused. I though that MMAHWMSU was hub mgt for windows for MSU???? At any rate, the product he has is hub mgt for windows for MSU on Ultrix. ??

	so can you tell me what is 1.1.14b?>> (or 1.1E??) From what I understand from this customer, some digital type folk went out that and installed this for him. :-(

	It was some IFT version of HUBwatch for ULTRIX V1.1 Sorry, I don't know what the differences are between T1.1.14 and V1.1, but V1.1 should be better than T1.1.14. Tapes for MMAHWMSU11E were lovingly hand-crafted by yours truly, as opposed to the impersonal assembly-line construction of MMAHWMSU110, HUBwatch for ULTRIX V1.1 In terms of function, V1.1 of HUBwatch for ULTRIX and HUBwatch for OpenVMS VAX were the same. Support of most of the 90 modules. Limited support for DEChub 900 communities. No real 900 management.

	I checked the release notes for V1.1, and they don't mention any problems. The developer knew of a few little things (DECnet translations in OpenVMS didn't work in that version), but didn't remember any hangs. Unfortunetly 1.1 was several versions ago, and as far as a field test version of 1.1, well... Have them upgrade and try again. Tom Hood HUBwatch
