I'll leave the HUBwatch folks to answer what plans they may or may not
have around this - I know it has been discussed a lot.
That having been said, for simple configuration changes you could use
any tool that can generate SNMP and supports scripting. The MIBs you
need are all available through the DEChub Engineering WWW server:
http://www-dechub.lkg.dec.com/external-info/mibs.html
and on gatekeeper via anonymous ftp in the directory
/pub/DEC/hub900/mibs
which is also accessible via DECnet on the node DECWRL, but I don't
know the VMS syntax for translating the directory path.
There has been a little discussion of setting up some script using
Polycenter Netview to monitor (not configure) the 900 in the NETVIEW
conference.

From VMS use DECWRL::"/pub/DEC/hub900/mibs" to access area.

| Thanks for the replies.
I'd still like to know if we can expect this functionality from
HUBwatch though?
If automated configuration scripting isn't going to be available under
HUBwatch -
Is anyone aware if there is a utility available to generate
SNMP configuration scripts and use them to configure HUBs and modules
on the same LAN?
Can this be done with POLYCENTER NetView?
(NB. Note also enterd in NETVIEW notes file)

Can you give a little more info about what you mean by config'ing the
modules? Do you mean something like "I want this repeater/server to
be configured like that repeater/server."? Or do you mean more than
that?

| Yes, it would be useful to automatically configure a particular module
like another module.
But also I would like to be able to pre-build a number of configuration
scripts and then when I go to a customer site "activate" them from a
management station (like PNV).
I am involved in a project where we need to configure approx' 20
DEChub900s (with various modules) and we're trying to figure out the
easiest way of doing it.
NB. We start configuration work on the customer site May 1994.
Thanks
