I currently have a customer with a DEREP-fiber-DEREP configuration. I want to replace it with DECrepeater 900FP-fiber-DEFLM configuration. Is this legal?

A DEREN usually connects to a transceiver or maybe a DELNI. The DECrepeater 900FP has a AUI port if its installed in a HUB ONE so thats ok. As long as the DEFLM is plugged into something that can supply it with power then that will work fine at that end. The DECrepeater 900FP could also be replaced with a DEFAR. dave

Yes, the DEREP on the far end is plugged into a DELNI. I want the density of the DR900FP since this is a star configuration. So, the DELNI can supply power to the DEFLM? If so, that's great. Please excuse me if you've answered this, but I want to be absolutely sure...

The global port of the DELNI will supply power to ANY transceiver including the DEFLM. dave |
