Hello, I have been trying to get the find address function to work. It will find DECnet addresses but will not find MAC addresses. I have confirmation the location of the address I want to find, but receive the message Address not found. I'm running HUBwatch for VMS V2.0 on a OpenVMS V6.0 system. All Bridges and agents are up to rev. Thanks, Grant Burton CSC/CS-NETWORKS

Grant, Are you specifying the 08-00-2b ... hardware address or the AA-... DECnet MAC address? Thanks, Bob

Bob, The 08-00-2b.... address. It looks like in the windows where you add this value it might be getting over run, i.e. not enough room for the complete address. Grant

Grant, My understanding is that the 08-00-2b... is no longer used once DECnet is running on the node. Therefore, the 08-00-2b... address is probably aged out of the bridges forwarding database. If you want to do a find by MAC address for a DECnet node you need to use the AA-... address. Another item that you probably already know is that in HUBwatch V2.0 find only works for DECrepeater 90's being managed by a DENMA (not the 900 hub manager). HUBwatch V3.0 will support finds on 900 repeaters as well. Regards, Bob |
