694.0. "90 mod in Hub 1?" by GLDOA::JSCHMIDT (Wire's Wire; Unless it's a Network) Fri Feb 04 1994 11:34

    Can I put a DEChub 90 Module into a DEChub 1 docking Station
    (DEHUA-AA)?

    This would be desirable to provide the AUI connection to the Mod.

    If I can, Would this provide any Management Capability for a 90
    repeater module?

    No, absolutly not. It won't physically fit (no latching mechanism for
    a small module) and the DEChubONE has no smarts at all the management
    capability comes from the agent in the module itself.

    Thanks Bruce

    It was worth a try.

    ... and even if it did fit and had the smarts, the old 90 modules
    couldn't use the AUI port on the docking station. The docking station
    AUI is a new feature which uses the middle row of pins of the hub
    connector. These pins are not present on 90 modules.
