i know we need a bridge in a HUB90 to use an agent

the question that arises is whether (and if so why) we need one
in a configuration where we have an hub connected directly to
a FDDI bridge (nothing else will ever be connected to the bridge)

    The DEChub 90 requires that a Hub Master be present in the hub in order to
    manage it from the DECagent 90. The DECbridge 90(FL) serves as the Hub 
    Master.

    Although having a bridge in the hub can be goodness.  As I tell
    my customers, at least it keeps any nasty runts and CRC errors in
    the hub and keeps 'em from spreading all over the backbone.   8^)
