| You can manage just about everything in the hub without HUBwatch because
everything is managed thru SNMP and published MIBs. BUT... due to the
complexity of the system, I would NOT recommend that.
You will be able to launch HUBwatch for Windows from HP OpenView. Given
the low price of the PC version of HUBwatch, this will save your customer
a lot of headaches, assuming they're running OpenView on a PC.
OpenView is scheduled to be supported a short time after HUBwatch for Windows
V2.0 ships.

| If all goes according to plan, you should be able to order HP OV for
Windows from Digital with a separate part number (no we don't have
the part number yet). We hope to have an OEM agreement with HP in
place shortly after HUBwatch for Windows V3.1 ships.
We ran HUBwatch x3.1 with HP OV for Windows at Interop with good
success.

| A customer of mine called up a distributor regarding HP OpenView
for Windows. They were told that only HP OpenView for Workgroups
and HP OpenView Interconnect Manager existed.
From the entries in this conference I have come up with HP OpenView
for Windows V7.2. Is this correct?
What size platform is recommeneded to run HP OpenView? When will
we have a DEC order number?

As far as sizing goes you should have at least 16Meg of
memory. Openview just says lots. Remember that the recommendation
for HUBwatch is 12Meg with V3.1. IT WILL RUN ON A 25Mhz machine
but above that will be better.
See note 1720.1 for current ordering info.
