This is a high availability network requirement from a customer who wants to dual-home to two DECconcentrator 900MX's M-port from systems using DAS FDDI NIC. We have choices in term of system and NIC, this part has been taken care. I asked for calrification of dual-homing support in note #565.0 and #565.2 but it seemed not being noticed. This capability is not necessary required at initial deployment, but we need to tell the customer (1) Is this supported at FCS (2) If not, do we plan to support and when Faraday

Faraday, I believe that Dual Homing is a standard in SMT so DECcon 900 can be used for dual home as far as it supports the latest SMT. Also did you see or ask in UPSAR::FDDI notes? Kenji |
