600.0. "Bridge problems" by ODIXIE::RICHARDSON (Are we there yet??) Sat Jan 08 1994 09:17

    I'm having a problem with a DECbridge in a 16port hub. I'm using
HUBwatch for Windows with the agent (firmware V1.1) in slot 7 and a
DECbridge 90 (firmware ???) in slot 8. Auto Discovery works fine
except that the repeater in slot 9 and 10 (the only 2 repeaters in the
2nd hub) do not show up.

I have the network cable connecting the 2 hubs and the bridge is
    working just fine.

Immediately after starting HUBwatch, I get a Major error for the bridge
    - Module Failure. The workgroup as well as the backbone port are down
(so HUBwatch thinks). This is not true, however, somehow hubwatch is
getting confused. When I go in and look at port information, there is
only information for port 1. None of the fields are filled in for port
2 or the port at the top (I forgot what it's called). This doesn't
    look right.

Now, in looking at the other notes here, it looks as though I may have
aproblem with the DECbridge firmware but how do I see what version I
have. I have added the bridge from the agent console but don't
remember seeing any version when I show that module.

Is the bridge update firmware still on
KALI::SYS$PUBLIC:BRIDGE_LOAD.txt? If not, any new pointers would be
appreciated. If this isn't a symptom of outdated firmware, any
    suggestions?

    Thanks....

    1) Do you have the management channel cable connecting the two hubs?
It is the MMJ connector just below the Thinwire on the side of the hub.

    2) To display the bridge firmware rev, connect to the bridge using MOP
console and execute 'SHOW BRIDGE'; the revision information is in the
first line. Note both the ROM and Firmware revs (the latest version is
    V3.1).
