545.0. "PROBEwatch Graphs & Hardcopys" by DPDMAI::DAVIES (Mark, SCA Area Network Consultant) Tue Dec 07 1993 09:23
I have been having the following two problems with PROBEwatch for Ultrix.
PROBLEM 1#:
I have been unable to successfully write a hardcopy of any PROBEwatch graph
to my disk. Two example error mesages (which show up on my DECterm window)
are below. The files are created, but nothing has been written into either
of them.
pid 1515 (qgraph_stat) was killed on an unaligned access, at pc 0x41ab7c
pid 1572 (qgraph_pktd) was killed on an unaligned access, at pc 0x41b504
An "ls -l" shows the following:
-rw-r--r-- 1 davies 0 Dec 4 09:10 long-term-packets
-rw-r--r-- 1 davies 0 Dec 4 08:19 segment-stats-size
PROBLEM 2#:
I get the following type of error messages on my DECterm window many times
(not always) when I select a "graph" and the new window is being created.
The window creation has never failed.

Any ideas where I have messed up?
Thanks,

545.2 | 1 fix, 1 unknown | DPDMAI::DAVIES | Mark, SCA Area Network Consultant | Sun Jan 09 1994 10:30 | 15 |
| Best I can tell is the following:
#1 is a software bug in Probewatch.
#2 is resolved by switching to 75dpi with X11. I created and issue the
following which resolved the problem:
Create the file: .X11Startup
Containing this: /usr/bin/X11/xset +fp /usr/lib/X11/fonts/decwin/75dpi

Mark
