410.1 | Factory Reset | BIKINI::KRAUSE | European NewProductEngineer for MCC | Wed Oct 06 1993 06:49 | 4 |
| This is the factory reset button. Press and hold it while applying power
to the module. Don't ask me why they have chosen a padlock symbol.

| If you take a close look, the symbol is of an unlocked pad lock. Basically,
pressing this button while applying power to the module will perform a factory
reset which, among other things, disables any security access (clear passwords,
etc.) that may have been previously set.

410.4 | A rose, depicted by any other icon... | TOOK::D_NELSON | Dave Nelson LKG1-3/A11 226-5358 | Wed Oct 06 1993 13:52 | 24 |
| .3 explains the use of the open padlock icon. It makes as much sense
as any of these icons make (at least to *me*). Maybe I'm just icon
illiterate.
The DS700 used a different icon for the same button. This one is even
less obvious. It looks something like this:

Cute, eh?
BTW, RE: .1, you don't have to hold the button in at power up on the
DS90TL or DS90M. Just press it before the 6th LED lights during
power-on self test and wait for the Network and Selftest LEDs to flash
rapidly before releasing the button.

Dave
