384.0. "HUBwatch (DOS) , SNMP, & DS90TL crashes!!" by SLINK::HOOD (I'd rather be surfing) Tue Sep 14 1993 14:16

Cross-posted from the terminal servers notesfile:

BLKPUD::WARNESG "This space deliberately left blank" 13-SEP-1993 13:53:58.42

    I wonder if anyone can help with a problem I have with DECserver
    90TL's, SNMP and HUBwatch for MS-Windows (V1.1, Alpha 3 FT).

    Using HUBwatch to access the MIB structures on the DS90TL,
    I frequently encounter crashes on the servers. HUBwatch
    for MS-Windows has facilities to monitor dynamically changing
    MIB enities (such as interface traffic counters) and it
    is particularly severe when performing this type of
    management. The crashes always seem to be code 002 crashes
    and I have tried both BL44-10 and BL44F-10A variants of the
    DECserver software and the behaviour seems the same.

    The servers themselves are 1MB DS90TL's mounted in
    DEChub 90's.

    The current position with the field test HUBwatch for
    Windows software is that management of all but
    standalone DECservers is unsupported, so I suppose
    I get what I deserve really ;-) But if there is
    anyone out there could look over (even briefly)
    the dumps I would greatly appreciate it and
    obviously feed the info back to the HUBwatch
    development people.

    Dump files are at :

    BLKPUD::BL44-10.DMP
    BLKPUD::BL44F-10A.DMP

    (BLKPUD is 41.345)

    Thanks in advance for any help given
