375.0. "How do you determine the MAC address for a device?" by TENNIS::KAM (Kam USDS (714)261-4133 (DTN 535) IVO) Thu Sep 02 1993 14:45

In configuring the DECagent 90 it request the MAC address. Is this
some address chosen by the System Manager? Supplying the ethernet
address seemed to satisfy the input requirement.

I thought the MAC address and the ethernet address COULD or WAS
    different.

    	regards,

The MAC address IS the Ethernet address (or FDDI address or Token Ring address).

Which, of course, should not be confused with the DECnet address, which is
definitely different from the MAC address.
