365.1 | It should work | CSC32::B_GOODWIN | | Mon Aug 30 1993 18:25 | 5 |
| It should work fine. There are several publications that state the
configuration is invalid, this is because of the 200 node limit on the
work group side of the bridge. But since you have a limited number of
node, approx 21, you should have no problem making this work.

| The only reference I've seen to the end node bridge restriction is in the
Open DECconnect Catalog. Just look in the contents for decbridge 90. It states,
" The DEWGB is an end-node bridge, that is, no other bridge can exist on the
workgroup side of the DECbridge 90."
Is this bit of documentation incorrect? From what I'm hearing from this
notes file it is!
I was also told that there was no way to set the root priority on the
decbridge 90. That would mean that the bridge with the lowest e-net
address would be the root bridge if all the bridges in your network were
decbridge 90's.

| The documentation tell you what is supported, but will it work? Yes. They put
that statement in the guide because they don't want the DB90's to be
used a full blown bridges because before you know it, they customer has
exceeded the 200 node limit on the work group side of the bridge. But as long
as the 200 node limit isn't exceeded it will work fine in a multibridge config.
As far as I can see, there is no way to set any spanning tree params on the
DB90 other than turning it on or off.
