362.0. "WANrouter 90 in hub--how to HUBwatch?" by GIDDAY::DRANSFIELD (Mike Dransfield, Sydney RSSG) Sun Aug 29 1993 09:12

How do you get a WANrouter 90 to display in the HUB
    in HUBwatch ?
    I tried this with HUBwatch V1.1 DECagent V1.1 Bridge90 V3.1
WANrouter (? the latest off the net)

I can see the wanrouter from DECmcc just fine, but HUBwatch
doesn't want to talk to it....
I tried adding it with the ethernet address as a DECserver90TL
(assuming it was using the ethernet address as a key in the
agents file as explained a while ago....)

    Is this possible?
What did I miss to do?
    thanks,
    Mike

You didn't miss anything.

The only support for the DECwanrouter 90 in HUBwatch (1.1 and 2.0) is the
bezel in the front panel. Summary screens are not planned.

What do you mean by summary screens are not planed? For customer does this mean
the DECwanrouter 90 is not manageable!!! by HUBwatch. We have an other
management tool, that not supports the devices it should.

    Roland,

The DECwanrouter 90 is not SNMP manageable. HUBwatch is an SNMP
management application. Therefore, it will not manage non-SNMP
modules. I'll leave it to others explain the managment strategy
    for this module.

Some clarification:

The DECwanrouter 90 is kind-of SNMP-able. Once it's loaded and running,
it can support MIB-II gets, but no sets. You cannot configure nor control
it through SNMP.
