Hallo, I have read 267, about DECserver 90M and TN3270 to IBM. Suppose I have IBM's 3172 + TCP/IP on Mainframe + TN3270 server, and I have a terminal connected to the DS90M and PC running PATHWORKS for DOS TCP/IP. Can the VT and the PC connect to IBM Mainframe using existing software, i.e. we do not need to add Tn3270 client on the PCs? Can the regular SETHOST from PATHWORKS do it directly? Is it transparent, or does it require certain setup? Thanks and Regards, Fung Siong

RE: .0 > Can the regular SETHOST from PATHWORKS do it directly? I think so. > Is it transparent, or does it require certain setup? There is some setup. Two layers of key mapping. One in SETHOST from PC keyboard to virtual VT200 (or similar) and one in the DECserver TN3270 from vitrual VT-200 to virtual 3270. For more information, you might ask in the TOOK::TERMINAL_SERVERS conference. Regards, Dave |
