Can someone explain ALARMS in Hubwatch(windows)? I thougt if I was in NETWORK view and any problem at HUB level will be notified by Traffic light going RED.But this is not happening. as soon as I go to HUB level Alarms comes on.If system OR hub disappear then I see the Alarm at NETWORK level. The Agent is @V1.1??Should it send the TRAP to Hubwatch??Does I need to setup something to see Alarm at Network level? What I need to do to see Red light,if BRIDGE port goes down,at Network level.

This is to some extent an intentional bug. We will try to get it fixed in V1.1. The problem is that unless you are at the hub view, HUBwatch only polls for some DECagent info. So if the DECagent is reachable, then at the network view, everything will appear to be OK. This was intentional in order to keep the number of polled variables to a manageable number. We didn't want to poll for a large number of module objects at the network view; this could result in a flood of polling packets when you have a large number of hubs. | |||||

I read .1 with great surprise! If I understand it well, version 1.0 is useless, because you can have a big crash in your network and the "green light" will remain on! I hope I'm wrong, or I've been lying to my prospects all these months... |
