267.0. "tn3270 on the decserver 90m" by WKOL09::PRESSLEY (pin heads are people too...) Sun Jun 13 1993 20:17

does the decserver 90m give full tn3270 functionality or are there
limitations. I was speaking to someone who said that different vendors
offer different flavors of tn3270. This customer would like to use
this product to connect terminal users to his as400 which is attached
    to the ethernet.

267.1How about physical connectivity?HGOVC::INDO03::FUNGSIONGDigital Indonesia - NetworksMon Jun 14 1993 06:2110
    RE .0

I would like also to know the physical connectivity between DECserver
90M and the IBM environment. Does it support Ethernet? Is there any
    synchronous port on the hardware?

    Thanks for any info.

    RE: .0

Yes, there are limitations. Or should I say options of TN3270 that
have not been implemented in the current software release. Perhaps
you would want to look at the documentation (Commands and Management
Guides) or post specific options the customer wants here. I'm not the
developer of the TN3270 code, so I'm not an expert.

For pointers to network documentation areas, see TOOK::TERMINAL_SERVERS
    Note 300.*.

    RE: .1

Via Ethernet. With TN3270, the IBM host runs a Telnet/TCP/IP stack.
Usually this is accompanied by an Ethernet interface on the IBM
mainframe, but any connection that is capable of routing the TCP
packets from the IBM to the Ethernet containing the DS90M will work.
