Just a few questions on Hubwatch for Windows 1.0 :^) If a customer wishes to manage 56 DECserver 90TL's loaded into 8 DECHUB90's using HUBWATCH for Windows (DOS platform) and the customer does not care to see the DECHUB 90 itself displayed by HUBWATCH , he is only concerned with the ability to manage and monitor the DECSERVER 90TL's and their individual ports, ..... Do you need the DECAGENT 90 in order to display and manage each port of the DECSERVER 90TL's ? No hub display wanted. If a DECagent 90 is required, how many agents are required to manage 448 DECSERVER 90TL ports? Is a DECbridge required in each hub if the DEChub 90 bnc port is connected to DEMPR bnc ports via thinwire cable? If a bridge is required , please explain why ? Good Gawd I can't wait till the manuals appear. Ron

The DECserver 90TL has an SNMP agent in it and isn't managed via the DECagent, but directly. I have no idea how it would go via the dos version. The manual is available online. I think in emds::management:win*.ps. Mike | |||||

263.3 | Can manage now with raw SNMP | EMDS::SEAVER | Bill Seaver, HUBwatch Mktg | Sun Jun 13 1993 23:14 | 4 |
HUBwatch for Windows 1.0 (now) and 1.1 (August) can manage 90TLs as stand alone devices using raw SNMP. Graphical implementation of 90TLs on the Windows platform will have to wait until V2.0 (December). It is already on HUBwatch for VMS 1.1 (now). |
