Can a DECbridge90 be set up to do filtering of incoming traffic to to the workgroup from the backbone? Do we plan to implement source address filtering on our DEChub bridges in the future? Regards Elisabeth

The DECbridge 90/90FL can be set to either filter up to 16 protocols or in inverse mode can forward up to 16 protocols. It can also be set to filter/forward in one direction only, ie. filter TCP/IP from coming into the workgroup but allow TCP/IP out. I haven't figured out why you'd want to do this but you can. As for source address filtering, it doesn't have the RAM space to do that. It would require a major engineering change. I wish it could do it. dave |
