89.0. "Router 90 questions?" by WARNUT::BANKST (Tim Banks 851-1646 "Wot Ho!") Mon Nov 30 1992 12:10

    I don't know where to ask this question, but here goes.....

    The WANrouter 90, is there a notes file for it specifically or is it
    lumped in with all HUB 90 topics?

    Will it in the near term (3-6 months) support protocols other than the
    three it does today, specifically IPX?

    Where does it sit against the brut? Is it below or above as there seem
    to be some overlap.

    Is brut still due in Q3 92?

    Thanks

    Tim

89.1how about some documentation pointers ??DC101::COLEOpen Systems Technology Center, Greenbelt, MDMon Nov 30 1992 17:1718
	I also have questions on the WANrouter 90 - ie, how
	does it support X.25 ? IE, can it be attached to a
	public PSDN like Tymnet and will it route a X.29
	PAD call to a specific IP address or DTE address
	of a Alpha OSF/1 workstation running X.25 ?
	Does it support LLC2 or GAP ??

	Pointers to detailed online documentation would be
	nice.

	thanks,

89.2WANrouter documentation and answersEMDS::SEAVERLENAC Net Mgnt Mktg 223-4573Tue Dec 01 1992 09:2917

    Documentation for the WANrouter is address in note 3.2.

    NOw for the other questions:

    There should be a sprarate file for the WANrouter, but as far as I know
    there isn't and much of it is inthis file. I am not the expert, but I
    will try to get people to answer your questions.

    The WANrouter will support IPX in the next release.

    Brut is more function than the WANrouter (above it).

    I bleive the official date is still Q3 for Brut, but it is certainly
    beginning to look like the end of Q3, esp when one realizes there is an
    SRAM shortage.....

    the notes file for the wanrouter is on:

    	TOOK::WANROUTER250

    (the 250 is the code base for the 90)
