I am currently involved in a bid with a customer who wishes to manage their DEC, Chipcom and PC environment. As you can imagine, they were not overly impressed with the graphic interface. As it happens they postponed the bid because all 3 vendors promised more than could realistically be delivered against the tendor. With Hubwatch due to be released, is there any way that using SNMP Hubwatch could be used to manage Chipcom hubs, or alternatively the DECmcc graphical interface modified to represent hubs physically, instead of offering MIBs as forms ? If there are plans a-foot, when are they due to come to fruition ? Thanks &*( Rex

41.1 | HUBwatch is somewhat flexible... | MEMIT::FORREST | Tue Apr 28 1992 19:31 | 15
LENAC has no immediate plans to manage other vendors' hubs using HUBwatch. DECmcc and DECmcc MSU are both interested in managing everyone's hubs. I've heard that Chipcom and DECmcc have something underway. Send mail to Elias Hattem as a starting point to find out more. Rex, can you send me mail regarding the following? You mentioned 3 vendors - DEC, Chipcom, who was the 3rd? I cannot imagine that they were not impressed with the graphic interface. I would like to know specifically what they didn't like about the graphic interface; we need to know, if we are to make improvements. jack
