29.1 | TSM is MOP-based, _NOT_ SNMP-based | NOHOST::LEVIN | Bryan, LENaC Engineering, MLO3-3/U39 | Thu Feb 20 1992 22:02 | 10 |
TSM can _NOT_ manage the whole family. At best, it can manage the new telnet/lat terminal server. Currently, I don't believe there's planned support for the 90L or 90L+ (I may be out of date on this, though). TSM connects via MOP console_carrier, so the management is provides is network bandwidth wasteful (MOP 'idles' the line WAY (!) too much), and non routable (cannot pass through routers, and is, therefore, no good on wan networks). .bl | |||||
29.2 | TSM can handle 90L and 90L+ | EMDS::SEAVER | LENAC Net Mgnt Mktg 223-4573 | Sat Feb 22 1992 18:00 | 4 |
TSM can manage all the terminal servers that are in the DEChub. EG 90L, 90L+, 90TL. The upgrade was made some time in Q2. For the 90L and I think tht also includes the 90L+. For more information on TSM contact Jim (TOOK::TOWNSEND). |
