How about for sending to someone when you know their name and site code but not their computer name. In vmsmail, we used to be able to do something like: To: mts::"hal davis @ MRO1" I don't remember the exact syntax, but it was something like that. This was particularly useful when looking someone up in elf like this: Common Name: GREG SMITH Search Surname: SMITH Search Given Name: GREG, GREGOR, GREGOR W DTN: 267-2291 Intrnl Mail Addr: DOO1 Location: DOO Org Unit: U.S. H/R GEOGRAPHY Notice that elf doesn't list his "node". Well, you can try [email protected] - this will work if "Greg Smith" is set up in the MTS directory for DOO. Note that if someone does have an Exchange mailbox, it gets automatically listed in Web Elf (http://www-elf.bb.dec.com/home.html) Steve |
