How about for sending to someone when you know their name
and site code but not their computer name.

In vmsmail, we used to be able to do something like:

	To:  mts::"hal davis @ MRO1"

I don't remember the exact syntax, but it was something like
that.

This was particularly useful when looking someone up in elf
like this:

Common Name:   GREG SMITH
Search Surname: SMITH Search Given Name: GREG, GREGOR, GREGOR W
DTN: 267-2291 Intrnl Mail Addr: DOO1 Location: DOO
Org Unit:  U.S. H/R GEOGRAPHY

Notice that elf doesn't list his "node". So how would I mail
to him through xchange (or eudora) ?

Well, you can try [email protected] - this will work if "Greg Smith"
is set up in the MTS directory for DOO. Note that if someone does have
an Exchange mailbox, it gets automatically listed in Web Elf
(http://www-elf.bb.dec.com/home.html)
