| Alan,
You cannot launch the Exchange (or Schedule+) client more than once,
however you can open multiple mailboxes (or appointment books) from within
the application. For the Exchange client, choose Tools, Services,
Microsoft Exchange Server Properties. Click on the Advanced tab. You'll
see the "Open these additional mailboxes" dialog. Click on Add...
For Schedule+, choose File, Open, Other's Appointment Book...
Note that for Exchange, the NT account that you are logged in under must
have the appropriate permissions for the mailboxes you are opening. For
Schedule+, someone with owner or delegate permission must permit your
access to the appointment book.

Dave

1055.3 | one client - two servers? | AOSG::MONTAGUE | | Thu May 08 1997 23:05 | 14 |

Is one of the requirements in .2 to have both accounts on the same server?
In my particular case I have all of my mail from UNIX, VMS and my DIGITAL1
accounts going to the nt exchange server. Said server is not part of the
DIGITAL1 setups.
I'd like to access the public folders that are setup on the digital1 servers
without getting logging off roadwarrior and then logging back in to digital1.
The question is can an exchange client open two differnt servers (having a
valid mailbox on both servers) at the same time?

| Correct Jon, the accounts must be on the same Exchange server. I don't think
that there is a way with the Exchange client (V4.x) to do this since you are
not permitted to add the Microsoft Exchange Server provider more than once
in a single profile.
Since all you want is public folders from a DIGITAL1 server, you could solve
this problem by setting up affinity/replication between your server and CCS.
I understand that CCS does tolerate "franchise" Exchange servers.

Dave

Jon, this is being looked at. (franchising the "Road Warrior"
Exchange Server)
Jon's Exchange Server is running the Integrated Telecommunications
AlphaServer. An Alpha running NT/Exchange with telephony
functionality. Basically, integrated Voicemail and telephony.

1055.6 | Can do, so long as in same org | SNOFS1::OP_RT | RICHARD TOZER | Sat May 10 1997 08:32 | 14 |
| Hi,
you can open multiple mailboxes that are not on the same server, from
a single Exchange client windows. I do it all the time as an
administrator. Tools - Services - Properties of Microsoft Exchange
Server - Advanced - Open additional mailboxes... is this place to do
this.
This will only work if the Exchange server are part of the same
Exchange organisation. All CCS managed servers fall into this catagory.

Richard

RE: .5
Mike, Thanks for the note about CCS starting to be receptive about
letting us on "Road Warrior" server be part of the DIGITAL1 domains.
To all:
The Integrated Telecommunications AlphaServer* is a slick piece of work.
From one consistent interface I get access to my voice and email. That plus
the mediapath phone services gives me a great deal of control of how I work
with the electronic communications mediums. I'm one of the field testers of
this system (Aug 96). Anyone is welcome to stop by my office (ZK03-3/w06) if
the want to see what this looks like. You need to talk to Mike about what this
product is like from the system administrators point of view.
