Hmm, I am not sure if you find this information out from the Client.
You can normally find out from the Exchange Server side, on the
Private Information Store object.

| There is a client extension that we built for internal use and a very
similar tool is on the v5 res kit. Eventually one of these will find
its way into a packaged kit and be made available.
The tool adds a button to the button bar and when you press it its
tells you how much server space you are consuming for each message
store you have configured. It doesnt report on .pst's or .ost's
because these dont have the property that holds this information.

994.3 | how do they do it? | TROOA::MSCHNEIDER | [email protected] | Sat Apr 12 1997 06:48 | 5 |
| Gotta chuckle .... an OS that doesn't know how to enforce a disk quota
and a mail system whose client won't tell you how much space you're
using, but will enforce a quota.

994.4 | PPE has offered this for many months | GANTRY::HULL | Systems Integration [Delivery]/Motown | Sun Apr 13 1997 07:15 | 12 |
| if you add the Preview Pane Extension kit to your Exchange client, it adds
a 'Folder Size' option under the File menu. You can highlight your mailbox
and get the total of all Server-based docs, or select just 1 folder name
and get a summary of that box.
I use it all the time to check my space. PPE also gives you Msg Reminders.
Its available from the MS webpage.

994.5 | size differences | COPCLU::dhcp118.dmo.dec.com::larsen_b | | Mon Apr 21 1997 12:11 | 11 |
| RE .4
I tried the PPE tool - Folder Size
It looks like there is some difference in size, because the PPE-tool
is telling me I have used 3382K and on the server there is used 4054K
is there a special reason for this ?
Thanks

| go to the microsoft web pages and do a search for 'PPE'
or 'Preview Pane'. You'll find a Road Tour hit. It takes you to this:
http://www.microsoft.com/exchange/tour/rightnow.htm
PPE is the first item listed
