977.0. "CRC error for certain Exchange messages" by PTOSS1::BREZLER () Thu Apr 03 1997 00:09
I have recently received a few (three or four) Exchange mail messages
that have caused my system to report CRC errors. When I click on the
message I start to get and continue to get beeps and the CRC Counter on
my Dial-Up Networking Monitor kicks up one time for each beep. My
Exchange essentially goes to sleep.
I can initiate my Kea process and use my "VT-400" usage of the office
VAX while this CRC problem persists, so I'm confident it's not a
problem with my Modem-to-office terminal server. Netscape works OK also
during this time.
If I hangup and redial, I can sometimes reset the situation and get
Exchange to come back to life. Sometimes it is still hung and the CRC
counter continues to increment. When it comes back to life, I can
select other mail messages and continue my work. If I go back to get
the "bad" message the whole "hang" process starts again.
I'm running Intel NT 4.0.
Any ideas????
