I installed the Exchange V5.0 RC1 on an NT 4.0 Alpha system with SP2/Kernal Hotfix. I also installed the Active Pages for the Internet access. I seem to be having troubles installing the NT Alpha client. I understand that it is a feature of the RC1 client kit for the NT client install to hang at the end which requires a reboot. I did that. However, I'm not sure it gets fully installed. After setting up the profile, I try to open the client. Everything appears to go ok. However, as soon as I try to compose a message I get the following error: The item could not be displayed. The action could not be completed. I also noticed that the Personal Address Book and Personal Folder Information Services are not available. I was never prompted for the location of the files in the profile setup. Any suggestions? Thanks, Lora

I had the same problem. Got around this by stopping all of the Exchange Server Services and then installed the Client Software on the Alpha System. I think there is a common DLL or something that an Exchange service has a lock on which stalls the client install. Thanks, Steve |
