    Is anyone having problems installing the Exchange Client (993, SP 2),
    Alpha version, on an Alpha Windows NT 4.0 Workstation (Service Pack 1
    or 2) box?
    
    I have two reports so far... (As a note, both also have FX!32
    installed.)

    I ran into some problems a couple of months ago and it had to do with
    Office '95 versions of some files conflicting with Alpha native
    exchange. If you look in the FX!32 conference (might have been
    FX32_BETA conference) there is more information in there and I think 
    a way to correct the problem. FWIW, I'm running SP3 (previously SP1 and
    SP2) without a problem (NT 4.0, Sp1, and Sp2).

    Any further clarification this ... I am trying to install the Exchange
    V4.0 Alpha client on 2 Alpha systems .... one running NT 4.0 SP2
    workstation and the other running NT 4.0 SP2 server.  Both fail on the
    install with the following errors (I tried 2 options for directory to
    install to)
    
    Other items that may be relevant:
    
    Have FX!32 V1.1 installed
    Have Office 95 Installed
    
    
    1 -- Chose default installation directory:
    
    c:\program files\Windows NT\Windows Messaging
    
    Error:
    
    Setup could not open the file"
    'C:\Program Files\Windows NT\Windows Messaging\exchng32.exe'
    
    Have option to Retry or Cancel
    
    The file does exist in this directory.....
    
    
    
    2 - Chose a different installation directory
    
    1st Error:  Got same message as first installation attempt, but this
    time I get an IGNORE option which lets me proceed.... to the next
    error!
    
    2nd Error:
    
    Setup could not open file:
    'C:\winnt\system32\mapi32.dll'
    
    Options are Retry or Cancel
    
    
    Any hints, tips tricks appreciated!
    Again this file does exist in this directory.

    The only way I was able to get Exchange installed cleanly was to
    disable FX!32 completely, do the install and then renable FX!32 again. 
    This was on an AlphaStation 500 - that's been replaced with a
    PWS433a and I haven't rebuilt with Exchange on the new system yet.
