842.2 | What are other sites doing?? | CHOWDA::GLICKMAN | writing from Newport,RI | Wed Jan 29 1997 03:46 | 10 |
| My customer would also like to know what other sites are doing in
regards to fault tolerance without clustering (as we know it on OpenVMS
and VAXes). He is concerned about putting up his corporate mail
without the redunancy. Right now the site is using TeamLinks in a
VAXcluster scenario.
Can anyone comment?
Thanks!

| The last I heard from Microsoft was that there would be no support in 5.0
(released any day now) or 5.1 (around March). It's most likely that
cluster failover will be provided by Exchange 6.0 which will ship a few
months after NT 5.0. That was very vaguely scheduled for this August!

| Last i heard (gee I wish we had better lines of communication) the cluster
problem would be fixed in a service pack to V5.0 in the spring.

It makes you wonder what we'd know if we weren't "partners" doesn't it?
Graham :-)
