I've gotten the following error twice now, and both times it was
due to a message sent via Exchange to the same user. Keep in mind
that he is on the detached HLO server at the time, if it matters.

The funny [definitely not "ha ha" funny] thing is that he did get
the message, even though this seems to say that the message was
unsent. The funnier thing is that he got the message every hour
or so for the better part of a weekend, and every time he got a
copy of the message I received this "failure".

Can anyone tell me what the reason for this response is?

    	Thanks for any info.

207.3Do you have the original or maybe recreate it by replying to an earlier msg ?tunsrv2-tunnel.imc.das.dec.com::fosterStan Foster - [email protected]Fri Apr 25 1997 23:4115
It looks like something is broken here:

    Cc: "lapomardo,mail11:; (paul"

imceax400-c=us+3ba=+20+3bp=digital+3bo=sbuamaeng+3bdda+3asmtp=plapoma

            [email protected] ("<[email protected]>")

Some encapsulated address became mangled and the sending mailer
apparently was getting what it thought was a re-tryable error and
continued to attempt delivery.

Do you still have the original sent message around with the original
recipient list ?.

Unfortunately it looks like I deleted the original.

I've sent to this distribution list quite often, and it doesn't
    	fail every time.

207.6HLO now part of GALSNAX::ERICKSONMon Apr 28 1997 15:3211

HLO/Digital Semiconductor was added to the corporate GAL this
past weekend. There were some problems setting up mail forwarding from
the hloexc1.hlo.dec.com address to the mail.dec.com address. This
should be fixed by now or sometime today. This forwarding will be turned
off sometime in the future. So anybody who has people in Digital
Semiconductor on distro lists. Should start sending them mail directly
through Exchange or to there [email protected] address.
