           What happens when you run this .exe file?  I copied it over
           and started to run it, BUT panicked (Ctrl C'd)... I didn't
           wanna convert all my VMS files over YET, since I'm not on
           exchange yet.

    Re .50, that's OK - it only creates converted messages in your local
    directory.  It does not do anything to the original messages in your
    VMS mailbox.  In fact, you should run it a few times and look at the
    results (they are flat text files to be imported to your Exchange
    mailbox by your Exchange Administrator) before making the move.  As it
    was indicated elsewhere, this tool is not perfect.  Funny VMS messages
    can still ACCVIO it.

           Can one run it on selected files and/or folders?
           
           Where do files go?  In Vax directory or C: drive directory?
           
           Can I view them w/o having Exchange?

    Re .52,
    
    You can run it on selected VAX mail folders (or all of them).  You'll
    be given that option at the beginning.
    
    The extracted mail are created as a series of files in your default VMS
    directory (the one you are currently in when running EXTRACT.EXE). 
    They are essentially flat text files with delimiters.  You may view
    them with your favorite VMS editors, but be sure not to change their
    contents.
    
    EXTRACT.EXE would from time to time run into an Access Violation
    (ACCVIO) error and terminates abnormally when it cannot deal with
    certain mail messages.

Is there any way that the client can do the load from extract? 

Mass forwards are real kludgy (they work but barely), leaving the mail 
on the VMS server doesn't help in reducing the number of systems in the 
infrastructure, doing a mass extract and load is a good way to carry the
baggage, but I have a real aversion to burdening the system admins with 
additional work in this migration. 

Or are there any client based tools like extract now?
