WANTED; modem capability for old 8-bit Atari machines.
Models 800XL and/or 130XE.
These are old machines that my sister and her children use. They have an old
acoustic 300 baud modem, but reportedly it's too slow to be of much use.
Word on the street is that I need an ATARI 850 SI (drive bus) to
parallel/serial adapter which would allow hooking up any any modem. Evidently,
P:R:C: also makes a box called the PRC Connection that does the same thing.
Alternatively if Atari made a faster modem specifically for the machine(s), I
guess that would be fine.
If you have any other nifty gizmos for these machines that you want to part
with, let me know.
