I need to get a color tube for the kids to use as the TV resolution is too poor for them to see the text on some of the programs they are running. Although discontinued, Toad still has some 1224s at $240 and of course the newer/bigger 1435 at $340. Other dealers have "reconditioned" 1224s in the under $200 range, and prices competitive with Toad for the 1435. I have heard horror stories about the newer 1224s being pretty unreliable. Is it worth spending an extra $100 for a 1435? Are these any more robust? Brian

1224's being unreliable? I have had one for about 5 years, 4 kids use it, and another (for me) which is 2 years old. I have never had a problem of any kind with either. KR |
