In your message to the ftpmail server, include the lines
binary
uuencode
This will tell the server that the files you are getting are binary
and they should be sent to you in a uuencoded format. Then on your
system extract the parts from mail put them together, and uudecode them.
I usually download the resulting binary file to my st at this point.
Now it looks like you'll need some way to un zip them. That format
isn't to popular on the ST, but there is a zip program on atari archive
called stzip11.zoo. Obiously to use this you'll need the zoo archiver.
hope this helps

ps - Here is an example of a message being sent to the ftpmail server
at decwrl to get the zip program. Obviously replace the instances of
my address with yours, and the machine to connect to. You might also
need to change the chdir line, as that's the directory the people at
atari archive put things in most places put them in /pub.

TWITTERPATER and also received neither an acknowledgement nor error.
Maybe these servers should be renamed to "black hole1" and "black hole2"! :-)

1288.8 | Moving from twitterpater to hyperion.com | YNGSTR::WALLACE | | Wed Sep 02 1992 16:38 | 24 |

Newsgroups: comp.sources.atari.st,comp.binaries.atari.st
Subject: ADMIN: Submission addresses changing
Date: 2 Sep 1992 08:27:25 -0700
Organization: Sun Microsystems Federal, Milpitas, CA.
Sender: [email protected]
Effective immediately, the submission address for comp.sources.atari.st is
[email protected]
and the submission address for comp.binaries.atari.st is
[email protected]
The archive server will remain on twitterpater a little while longer, but
it will be moving to hyperion.com shortly as well. I will post another
note when that's about to happen.
Incidentally, for those wondering why both groups are dry, it's not because
I've gotten slow again; my queues have been empty for a while, and no new
submissions have been coming in.
