I have just aquired an LA210 which I would like to port to my 1040STF, does anyone know if this is possible and if so how to do it. Also I hear you can configure a VR241 as a colour monitor, again is this possible and if so how do you do it. Cheers Paul

PRNSYS::DUA2:[LOMICKAJ.HOBBY.ST]MONITOR.TXT describes the conversion of a DEC VR241 for use on the Atari ST's. It's straightforward enough. From what I read in DECdirect, you should be able to use the LA210 by hooking it up to the serial port and using it in one of the IBM compatible modes. If you have the LA10X-EP, you can hook it to the parallel port. Should be easy. The catalog doesn't say what printers it emulates, only "three popular IBM compatible printers". Also, it looks like the IBM compatibility will cost you an LA10X-LH. Some software can be taught to use it in the native mode. Depends on what you want to do. |
