1209.0. "Got it working!!!" by KAOFS::H_SWAFFIELD (What's all this then...) Wed Nov 13 1991 12:11
Hi,
Okay, Got it working finally. It cost me big time I'll tell ya
but, at least I finally got 1 meg on my ST. The error statement
I previously wrote basically means that chip D11 is bad. On the
Rev "C" module, counting from the left and starting at zero, you
count 11 chips. This program seems quite functional as a testing
tool for memory.
The reason it cost me so much was, the purchase of 16 256x1
rams (80 ns) was $40.00 then I bought 2 more. the time spent
on this was about 30 hours of installation and troubleshooting the
problems. and the long distance phone call to Willie Brown at
supra. We talked about the ATARI and the problems I had for about
15 min. I live in Canada, and Supra is in the Mountain time zone
(2hrs diff) and of course the call was made at PRIME TIME long
distance rates.
I figure though, that I saved about $150.00 doing it myself.
There is a guy up here that will do the upgrade for $200.00, but
all he can guarentee is that it will work once you get your ST
back.
Thanks Jeff for your comments, They sounded very reasonable for
t/s this problem. I feel like an expert now. (SORTA) :-)
