    I did a search for titles with "sound" and "sample" in them and found
    nearly nothing.
    
    I recently was at a friend's house and heard some music played on an
    Amiga (hiss!! boo!!) and that got me wondering about the hardware/SW
    packages I see in ads for sampling and playing digitized music, etc. on
    the ST. 
    
    What tools are available (hard *and* soft) to let you use the ST as a
    sampler/synthesizer?  Can any of them be used to synchronize with MIDI
    clocks, to play along with external MIDI gear?
