I have a friend who wishes to transfer a database from a Superbase 1 DB on the ST to a Superbase 4 DB on the IBM PC. Does anyone know if this is directly possible or will there have to be an upgrade path on the ST before the data transfer can successfully take place ? Cheers, Jamie.

I do believe it is possible. I have SB PERSONAL and I have transfered files from the ST to a PC (and back)running SB. I am not positive that the PC was running SB IV, but it was running some form of Superbase. | |||||

I would be surpised if it is NOT possible. I'm no expert with S/Base, but I managed to transfer my databases from my Epson portable (PX8 - an old CPM laptop) into S/base on the Atari. I had to fiddle & experiment with file formats, but it worked fine. I think it was something to do with Import/Export. The common format was ASCII-based, as I remember. Jim |
