Help!! I've just bought a Phillips colour monitor (I think the model no is something like CM8833) and cann't get it to work properly with my 1040STE. Symptoms are: rolling screen display fragmented edges in upper third if screen no blue apparent saturation control makes no difference When disconnected from Atari, a normal grey display appears. Any of you have any experience of using this monitor successfully? Thanks in anticipation, Ken

I don't know that monitor, but your symptom looks like some sync problem. What kind of connectors does the monitor have? Is it video or RGB input? Was the monitor shipped with an Atari connector, or did you make a cable on your own? Bernd | |||||

Thanks for your reply. After getting out my test meter, I found that the cable supplied bore no relation to the required connections. (There was no ID on either the cable or its package.) After breaking open the moulded connector, I eventually managed to re-wire it correctly, and all is now well. Rgds, Ken |
