I've installed the new system KAOS 1.4 on my ATARI and recognized, that this software would not attach the floppies. The hard disk booted well, the icons for the floppies (3,5" and 5 1/4") are seen, but when I want to open the window for disk A or B the following error occure: Such a device is unknown in the system. The workaround for this behavior is to rename the bootfile on the harddisk and booting the system from device A, where you start also the harddisk. Is there any patch or program that set up the right bits on the system, so that the drives A and B are known without touching them during boot phase ? Thanks for help, Christian.

I have no answer handy, but another question. Since months I'm waiting for 1.4-2 that I ordered, but the only roumors I've heard tell me that they have some kind of trouble with the rights and are not ready to deliver the OS. So where did you get your KAOS from, if I may ask. Is there another company that is able to deliver NOW? B.t.w. the older version 1.4-1 does not have such problems with the floppies, but others in terms of compatibility to certain programs like an old version of Adimens... Bernd |
