1075.0. "Meeting announcements - Nashua Area ST Club" by ALLVAX::PETERS (Don Peters, CTC2-1/C14, 287-3153) Wed Feb 20 1991 13:33
Nashua Area ST User Society (NASTUS)
NASTUS has been meeting for several years in the Nashua, New Hampshire,
area. Its purpose is to promote communication among owners/users of Atari
ST computers. We do this via a monthly newsletter and a monthly meeting.
Membership dues are $15, which includes a subscription to the club
newsletter and access to the club's public domain library, which numbers
around 100 double-sided disks at this time. However, anyone is welcome to
attend club monthly meetings, member or not.
The meetings are typically held on the third Wednesday of the month, at
the Nashua Public Library. We meet on the lower level, in the East Wing.
Since other groups have sometimes booked that room before we could reserve
it for our meetings, it is best to check beforehand on the exact date.
Meetings typically start at 7:15 pm, and run no later than 9:30 pm.
Meeting format generally consists of reports of cash on hand, new public
domain library additions, questions, announcements, etc. This in turn is
usually followed by one or two featured presentations. For example, we
have had representatives from Dr. T and Gribnif speak to us about their
products. Members also speak about their experiences with ST products.
To get to the library, take Rt. 3 to exit 6 in Nashua (the Nashua Mall
exit). At exit 6, go east on Broad Street (away from the Nashua Mall).
Continue on as Broad Street merges onto Amherst Street, until you reach
Main Street in downtown Nashua. Go right on Main for 3 blocks, turning
left on Temple Street (After you turn, the Odd Fellows building will be
on your left, and the Fleet Bank, with pillars in front, will be on your
right). Then, take your first left, which is Court Street. The library is
about 200 feet ahead, on your right. However, since parking is in the
rear of the library, take an immediate right instead, and park in the
rear parking lot. When you enter the library, take an immediate right and
go down the stairs. The East wing is on the right.
It may sound complicated, but its easy once you've done it!
We invite you to come and join us!

1075.1 | Mega STe at the Feb meeting | ALLVAX::PETERS | Don Peters, CTC2-1/C14, 287-3153 | Wed Feb 20 1991 13:35 | 22 |
| One of our NASTUS members, Joe Gaudreau, has just become an official
registered Atari developer. One of the first things he did was to take
advantage of the Atari discount and purchase a Mega STe. It arrived about
a month ago, and he has been gathering experience and demo software for
it ever since.
Joe will bring the Mega STe to the club meeting on February 20th to show
it off.
Another member, Brian Greer, will also be coming, and will show off his
Adspeed adapter, which makes an ST run twice as fast.
Upcoming meeting dates are:
March 20
April 25 (note, not a third Wednesday)
May 22 (also not a third Wednesday)
June 19

1075.2 | Midimaze 2 at the June meeting | ALLVAX::PETERS | Don Peters, TAY1-1/D7, 227-3173 | Thu Jun 11 1992 13:22 | 26 |
| Hmmm, looks like its been awhile since I've entered a meeting announcement.
The June 17, 1992, meeting will feature a Midimaze 2 group game. All are
welcome to attend, but it will be more fun if you bring in your ST (with
color monitor and joystick) and participate. MIDI cables will help too.
If you are unfamiliar with the game, we will have some hard copies describing
how the play the game.
For those who haven't heard of the game before, it involves from two to a
dozen players, each having a color ST that is hooked up to another ST via
MIDI cables. The connections form a ring. Everyone is represented on screen
with a "happy face", each with a different color. You wander a maze,
controlling your moves with a joystick, and attempt to "shoot" other
players to gain points. The more points you gain, the better your offense
and defense.
We tried this game at our December meeting and it went off very well.
If you have some kids, bring them along - they'll probably enjoy playing
too!
