1064.1 | I presume it's a proprietary format | OLDTMR::WALLACE | | Tue Feb 05 1991 21:09 | 6 |
| The manual does not say what file format it generates. It is binary data but
it comes with a seperate program which can be used to convert it to ascii. I
have never used the coversion program so I don't know what it's file looks
like.

I remember when I used GFA Draft the first version years ago, I was
able to plot on a friend's plotter with HPGL.

1064.4 | How to get Postscript | SUBURB::JAMESH | Left Handed People are SUPER Natural | Wed Feb 06 1991 05:20 | 3 |
| I use draft a lot and I plot HPGL to disk, bring it to work, use HP2PS
to convert to Postscript and print on a PS printer. Works wonders!

1064.6 | Differences between GFA-DRAFT latest version and GFA-DRAFT /+ version 1.5
| STKHLM::ARENDI | Jaak Arendi CS/VIA STOCKHOLM | Mon Feb 11 1991 02:19 | 11 |
| Hi!
I bought GFA-DRAFT plus instead and i'm wondering if there are any
differences anymore between DRAFT and DRAFT PLUS. The version i
got dated back in 1988, so i guess that the enhancements there are now
included in DRAFT. Am I right or???

1064.7 | Here's Two Differences | SUBURB::JAMESH | Left Handed People are SUPER Natural | Mon Feb 11 1991 08:19 | 7 |
| Two major differences: 1)In Draft Plus you can save a drawing to disk
as xxx.plt whilst Draft doesn't allow you to do this.
2) All menue items are accessable from one screen in Draft Plus but
from Draft you must switch screen.
I had a problem selecting PLOT with Draft which is why I got Draft
Plus.

1064.8 | Must be to obvious for me to see | YNOTME::WALLACE | | Tue Feb 12 1991 17:40 | 10 |
| Well I give up. How do you "plot to disk" (ie: save a HPGL file)? I've tried
the 'save' menu item which just saves the drawing in some (presumably
proprietary) binary format. I've tried the 'plot' menu item which only goes to
the plotter (or tries to, I don't have a plotter). I have not been able to
figure out how to plot to disk, or save using HPGL. I also was not able to
find anything in the manual about doing it.
Geez, this is making me feel like a novice ST user again :-)

1064.9 | Preset menu! | STKHLM::ARENDI | Jaak Arendi CS/VIA STOCKHOLM | Wed Feb 13 1991 02:41 | 9 |
| If You look on the preset menu under plotter, You will find
a choice where to direct Your plots. It's RS232, Centronics or
disk. Hope this helps.

1064.10 | Draft or Draft Plus? | SUBURB::JAMESH | Left Handed People are SUPER Natural | Wed Feb 13 1991 05:37 | 6 |
| .9 is for Draft Plus only. If you have two sets of menu bars then you
have Draft which doesn't allow you to plot to disk. "Barrel.xxx" would
be a way to plot to disk in this case. I used this with another package
that outputs to plotter. In fact I think you told me about it Ray.
Cheers.

Yes I'm familiar with Barrel
Thanks,
