1060.0. "Memory upgrade unsupported?????!!!! " by STKHLM::ARENDI (Jaak Arendi CS/VIA STOCKHOLM) Mon Jan 28 1991 06:34

	Hi!
	I just found out that in Sweden, Atari Scandinavia Inc. says
	that an upgrade of the memory in the STE computers is unsupported.
	I can accept this if I do it myself, but even an authorized dealer
	isn't allowed to do it. Is this the case in other Atari-countries
	aswell? There was some mumble of changing the internal structure....
	I have experienced a power supply crash on a 520 STE with 4 Mb Ram,
	and that might a reason why they decided it to be unsupported. The power
	supply seems to be to weak, at least in the 520 STE series (different
	in the 1040).

I don't think Atari supports ***anything***.

Best Electronics has an upgraded power supply (better quality and more
current than the original) that should work in the STe. It's about
$80, U.S., I can get their number if you are interested in getting
one.

BTW, I don't believe that the 1MB simms use any more current that then
256K's.

    	Thank's but no. After the PS crash i bought a 1040 STE, which i
    	intend to keep my hands from. IE i wont break the warranty seal.
