Hi! I just found out that in Sweden, Atari Scandinavia Inc. says that an upgrade of the memory in the STE computers is unsupported. I can accept this if I do it myself, but even an authorized dealer isn't allowed to do it. Is this the case in other Atari-countries aswell? There was some mumble of �changing the internal structure...�. I have experienced a power supply crash on a 520 STE with 4 Mb Ram, and that might a reason why they decided it to be unsupported. The power supply seems to be to weak, at least in the 520 STE series (different in the 1040). Jack

I don't think Atari supports ***anything***. Best Electronics has an upgraded power supply (better quality and more current than the original) that should work in the STe. It's about $80, U.S., I can get their number if you are interested in getting one. BTW, I don't believe that the 1MB simms use any more current that then 256K's. | |||||

Thank's but no. After the PS crash i bought a 1040 STE, which i intend to keep my hands from. IE i wont break the warranty seal. Jack |
