>Is there no chance to see a VAX fileserver for ST ?
None that I know of. Quite some time ago someone "on Usenet" starter a file
Unix server for the ST, called PMFS (Poor Mans File System) which could have
been ported to VAX/VMS had it been completed. The last code I got from him
only supported a psuedo disk (ie: no direct access to the Unix file system)
and it was not bug free (he was only on his second revision).

>ST can be down loaded ?
If you mean can you download files from the VAX to the ST, the answer is yes.
You can use the serial line (via modem or direct) and KERMIT or XMODEM
download programs. The are other notes that discuss this in detail. Try a
"dir /title=download" or "dir/title=transfer".

>News about network and st ?
Again there are other notes that discuss this I believe the one used by some
of the people here is called something like KAQ9. Try a "dir /title=network"
command.

	KA9Q-TCP. TCP/IP over the serial port (or the MIDI port if you want to).

	You can indeed get the Atari version from CSCMAS::SYS$MSDOS:[KA9Q-TCP],
	and yes, CSCMAS:: is back on line.

	Relevant topic is note 727. Works well enough.

	727 isn't the relevant topic, unless you're trying to connect to the
	MIDI port. Sorry. Just try getting the archive for the ST from CSCMAS
	and read the docs.

895.4everything except the ST!UKCSSE::KEANEWed Jun 13 1990 04:308
    Hi,

    I had a look in ****[KA(q-tcp]. The only kit that is NOT there is the
    ST distribution. Could anyone suggest where I might find net_st.arc?

    Cheers
    Pat K.
895.5Yeah I noticed too.PAULJ::HARRIMANIt's a dog eat dog food worldWed Jun 13 1990 10:328

	Funny, it's in the 00-index.txt but no longer appears in the
	directory. I think I still have a copy of the original .arc, I'll
	try to remember to upload it, and I'll post here when I have it
	on this network.

895.6KA9Q available herePRNSYS::LOMICKAJJeffrey A. LomickaWed Jun 13 1990 11:2813
I run the KA9Q package both between Ataris using MIDI, and between the
Stacy and PRNSY1:: using Slip on Ultrix. I one point, I wrote a note
of some detail regarding the Slip connection to Ultrix, and how to set
it up. I will do a SEARCH and set up a KA9Q keyword that will allow
you to locate it in this conference. All of the files are available
here on PRNSYS::USER2:[LOMICKAJ.HOBBY.ST]NETBIN.ZOO,NETSRC.ZOO,NET.DOC.
 I have NOT YET been able to recompile this package from sources, but
the distributed binary mostly works, and I have been trying when I have
time.

(You can't FTP files from the non-default drive partition, and SMTP
doesn't seem to work quite right, causing the system to bomb when I send
mail to it.)

	I noticed that as well. Seems to be trying unix style paths instead
	of msdos paths ("/" vs "\"). Definitely screws up the mail directory
	and subdirectories.

895.8It is fixablePRNSYS::LOMICKAJJeffrey A. LomickaThu Jun 14 1990 12:162
I actually found *where* to fix the FTP problem in the sources, so if I
could only get it to compile, I would be able to straighten things out.
