826.1 | Here it is | JOVE::reilly | Michael Reilly | Tue Apr 10 1990 22:39 | 14 |
| I am putting the compressed tar file onto jove now. I'll put an arc file
there as soon as I get a chance. Copy the file -
jove::uniterm.20e.tar.Z
if you want the compressed tar version. Remember that case matters in Ultrix
filenames and that the file is binary (not ascii).
% ls -l uniterm*
-rw-r--r-- 1 root 346856 Apr 10 18:29 uniterm.20e.tar.Z
There appears to be an ascii version of the manual as well as the LaTex
source and some other goodies in the distirbution. jove::uniterm.list is a
listing of the contents of uniterm.20e.tar.Z. Uniterm.list is an ascii file.

826.2 | arc version? | JARETH::GILLIAM | | Fri Apr 13 1990 13:17 | 4 |
| Does anyone know where there's an arc version of Uniterm 2.0e 011?
Thanks

| I copied files into the wee hours last night and now have a whole
collection of things from the terminator ftp site. One was the latest
version of Uniterm. Copy the file vermnt::/usr3/atari/uni20v11.arc
to your system. To copy from VMS I would suggest the following command
to insure no corruption of the file format:
exchange/network/trans=block vermnt::"/usr1/atari/uni20v11.arc" -
uni20v11.arc
Note that the quotes are required to tell VMS not to get carried away
with trying to parse the filespec.

re .-1
Thanks for the info, I successfully downloaded it and ran it up last
night.
Are there any Release Notes with it?
The only 'benefit' I can see at present is a negative - mouse pointer
'holes' are left in the dialogue boxes for RS232, Terminal Setup etc,
a feature not present in V2.00 e 009!

826.5 | No docs at all | SMURF::COUTU | He who will not risk, cannot win. | Wed Apr 18 1990 11:47 | 6 |
| You've got all there is then. The arc file contains a new program
image and a resource file. That is it! I have no idea of what is
different. When Simon Poole made it available he provided no details,
just 'here it is'.

| Whoops! I made an error in .3. While the body of text gives the right
location the example of how to the exchange command does not. The files
are in /usr3/atari. /usr1 is the wrong place to go.

826.7 | Is the ARC file complete? | JOVE::reilly | Michael Reilly | Thu Apr 19 1990 22:16 | 7 |
| Re: .5
Not true. Simon made a tar file available with full Uniterm docs in ascii
and LaTex source form as well as a read me file which describes the problems
he corrected in each incremental update. Look at the list of the contents of
the tar file I made available a few replies back and see what should be
there. If the arc doesn't contain it all then it needs to be fixed.

826.8 | Not in my copy! | MINDER::GILBERT | Systems Design & Eng Cntr @ MCO | Fri Apr 20 1990 06:42 | 7 |
| The .ARC file contains two files, the .PRG and .RSC, only.
I'd really appreciate a look at the README file. Can you put a copy
on-line *and* accessible to us poor VMS users ("tar file" doesn't mean a lot
to me!)
Regards, Brian

826.10 | Some more files | JOVE::reilly | Michael Reilly | Wed Apr 25 1990 21:20 | 25 |
| I've put an arc of the following files from the uniterm tar file on jove::
If anyone wants an arc of the User's Guide UG) sources let me know. I can
also produce a postscript copy of the UG if anyone is interested. Also if
anyone wants an arc of the entire tar file let me know. The tar file
actually contains a directory tree so making an arc of all of the files may
result in some name conflicts. If anyone is interested I'll try it.
Copy jove::udoc20e1.arc and you'll get -

826.16 | fontfiles bad?? Or what am I doing wrong? | BERN01::RUGGIERO | Markus Ruggiero, EIS/PS, Zrich/Switzerland | Mon Apr 30 1990 04:40 | 20 |
| I copied all the neccessary files from JOVE. After downloading to my
Atari there was no problem to unArc them. All fine so far!
There are some fonts (.FNT and .UFT). As I understand the doc (it's in
the Q_and_A-file) it should be possible to change the font Uniterm
uses. How do I do this?? I read something about a macro statement
FONTLOAD, but it does nothing. Not even the disk is beeing touched to
read the font. Also it was not possible to load the .FNT-files into an
ordinary font editor or to create a .UFT file from one of them. The
provided MAKE_UFT.TOS tells me something about data that starts at
address 30 but that the file size was wrong - and terminates leaving me
with a created file of size 0.
So my questions: Are the fonts bad in the .ARC file? (Arc did not
complain about bad archive). Is there something I do wrong? Do I just
not understand waht Simon Pool tells me?
Please if anyone has successfully changed the font in Uniterm tell me
how to do that!

PS: What program uses the TEX file format, and are there any PD
