My UNITERM (V2.0d) seems to have problems on input (from the host) of the international character set (8 bit). On receiving german text from the host, the Umlauts don't come out at all. However I captured the incoming text to a file, stopped UNITERM and simply listed the file on the screen and all the characters come out correctly. So what do I have to do to UNITERM to get him to print those characters correctly? Thanks for any help Steve in Munich

I'm using Whack now, and have no trouble displaying or generating , , , etc., etc.

Sounds like you need to change the terminal characteristics from 7bit to 8bit. It is in one of the menu's. Ray

You may also want to try a newer version of Uniterm. The latest one I have seen is V2.0e 009. mike

I have a similar problem as mentioned in .0 But the other way around.... On receiving, the swedish character set works ok (eg. , and ). But when I type these characters, nothing happens. The characters exists in the buffer, but doesn't echo back. I'm using the latest version of UNITERM (2.0e-009). I've tried everything, different setups etc. I give up......! WHACK works well!...(salute to Jeff) /johan |
