793.0. "Which way round?" by UKCSSE::KEANE () Fri Mar 09 1990 03:08
Hi,
Please would some kind soul provide me with a little technical
information.
I have an old 520 ST, it has the 6 TOS Proms mounted in a straight row
down the left hand edge of the PCB, looking from the front, (keyboard)
edge of the board.
The Proms are in sockets marked on the PCB, U2, U3, U4, U5, U6, U7 with
U7 nearest the front, (keyboard).
Please could someone tell me how they are organised regarding content,
i.e. which U numbers are low byte, rom 0, rom 1, rom 2, and which are high
byte rom 0, rom 1 and rom 2.
I shall be extremely grateful, as otherwise I shall have to trace all
the pcb tracks to find out. (The roms do not have any discernable
pattern in their printed on numbering scheme that makes sense).
Thanks!

Pat,
the ROMs are organized as following:
U2 = High 2
U3 = High 1
U4 = High 0
U5 = Low 2
U6 = Low 1
U7 = Low 0
The contents I had to look up in the TOS listing, which I have not
on hand in the moment.
