744.0. "GFA Draft Question." by SUBURB::JAMESH (Left Handed People are SUPER Natural) Mon Jan 22 1990 04:32

I acquired a 6 pen plotter over the weekend (HPGL compatable) but
found that GFA Draft V2.0 hung when selecting RS232/Parallel. Has
anyone else had this problem in the Plotter menu?
    ...Howard.

    Hi Howard,

I dont know whether you remember the saga I had with my RICOH plotter!

You dont say whether you are trying to use Serial or parallel. which is
    it ?

If it is serial, what is the handshake, XON/OFF or RTS CTS ?

I have been using DRAFTPLUS. It seems to run OK on Serial plotting,
as long as I dont use CTS RTS on the control panel.
I still have probs with the RICOH's RTS/CTS handshake, and the bug in the
ATARI, WHICH DOES CAUSE THE GFA DRAFTPLUS TO "HANG", (Its actually the
TOS 1.4 looping on a location looking for a bit change, which never
occurs 'cause they never read the serial port status register again in
the loop after the first time!). There is a patch for it, but I cant
    make it work.

If however you have a parallel interface, then I dont Know if GFA draft
    plots OK thro it!

If you want you can borrow my ORIGINAL Draft plus disk and manual to
see if that works any better than DRAFT, (mail me).

    Cheers

    Pat.
