I think I've nearly finished, I will know in the next few nights.

| How long has it been out for then ???!!! It came out last week here
(England).
I found a bug in it; are there many ? The system bombed when I tried
to climb down a pit just past the "Give up; pull the lever" wall
just as some creatures were about to pulp me ...

722.3 | I got maps | KAOFS::H_SWAFFIELD | All is not lost, just misplaced | Thu Feb 22 1990 08:59 | 9 |
| Well, I finally got Chaos Strikes back, and, I also got ahold of some
maps for it.. I anyone would like, I could upload the maps into my
directory, in an ARC format, and you could copy them. They are not
totally complete, from what I understand, but, as the guy said, I'ts
better than nothing... I got them from Compuserve.

| I just got Chaos Strikes Back.
It's was worth buying an ST just to play Dungeon Master and Chaos looks
even better.
But much harder!!!
Re -1
I had the maps quite early into Dungeon Master,and I feel they spoiled
the game a little.I'll try Chaos without (but please don't delete
them just yet)

722.5 | Gimme maps | SAC::OKEEFE_N | One wheel's enough... | Fri Feb 23 1990 10:25 | 9 |
| For those of us too busy getting annihalated to map, can you give us a pointer
to the maps. I've got a lot of pieces of paper with scrawlings on them, but I'm
really not sure about their accuracy given the enormous amount of wierdness going
on in the new dungeon. Any corroborative evidence would be a great help.
Thanks in advance.
Neil.

722.6 | You want maps? Drop me a line. | KAOFS::H_SWAFFIELD | All is not lost, just misplaced | Fri Feb 23 1990 12:16 | 19 |
| My previous note regarding the maps, was a bit say, hasty. I do have
the maps, and finally got down to actually playing Chaos last night
using them. Unfortunatly, they are not complete, (as previously stated)
and, I had some trouble using them. Level 2 seems to be complete, but
level 1 and level 3 seem to be missing some areas. I was up untill 2:00
this A.M. playing, and ran into the Dragon on LIII. I couldn't defeat
him, so, I went to bed, and drempt Dungeon Master for the rest of the
night. I can upload the maps I have, maybe somebody else can make some
sense of them.
They are drawn in Degas, maybe elite? I'm not sure, I don't have
the Elite version of Degas. I am currently in the process of drawing my
own set of maps, and if I do it in a reasonable time frame, I will
upload that. If you want the present maps, write me a email at the
above node address, and I will upload into my account here, and make
them available..

722.7 | Chaos Hints | UBOHUB::SHELDON_R | Whaaaaat Is That?????? | Mon Mar 19 1990 09:58 | 10 |
|
In the March edition of ST Action there is a 2 page hint section
on Chaos Strikes Back. It gives details of people trapped in the
prison such as strentgh, stamina and mana. It also gives details
on the various "nasties" down there as well as a list of spells
and what they do. I can't think of anything else. If you want a
copy of these hints then send a mail to Robert Sheldon @UBO and
I will send you a photocopy.
Robert.

722.9 | Trouble with knights | WELSWS::WICKHAM | | Wed Mar 21 1990 02:19 | 13 |
| Thanks for the offer in .8.
The knights with two swords are causing my group death. I have
tried fighting them with weapons while zapping them with spells
from the back row. They do not fall down! After a while I hear
the cry of the crow in the distance and its time to reload a
saved game. Worse, the knights seem to seek my group out
- usually in a DEAD-END.
Have you got maps?
I like the game but my group seem as impotent as a baby hobbit
when confronted by the Nazghul.

722.10 | | CLO::HERSHBERGER | | Wed Mar 21 1990 09:58 | 12 |
| I have maps, but only on graph paper. Mapping was very hard, much
harder then D.M.
Some knight info follows:
Fireballs are of little or no use against knights, only weapons
seem to work. They are not real fast, so if you can catch them in a
four step area you can keep hitting them, then move. They have very
high hit points. All my characters were at least first level masters
in all four classes. Made monster bashing a little easier. I thought
I read somewhere that the dispel spell works on knights but never
tried it. Good luck.

722.11 | Not so.... | BIOMIC::LANE | Dd ߥ Dwn...vi Dd II | Thu Mar 22 1990 06:50 | 3 |
| I have killed knights using fireballs only, but it does take a lot of
them. I had to do this after I fell into the "Surrender Your
Possesions" pit, and didn't have any weapons.

722.12 | Doors Doors give me doors | OPG::CHRIS | Capacity! What Capacity ? | Thu Mar 22 1990 07:30 | 6 |

What I used to do in DM was to get behind a door and open it a fire
with everything I had then close the door, rest, then have another go.
Seemed to work.

722.13 | | SIEVAX::JAMIE | Use me, Use me... OOPS excuse me! | Thu May 10 1990 06:34 | 8 |
| I read in a magazine recently that there are secret doors to be found
in the hall of champions. Going down the revealed staircases, you find
some more mirrors; those containing the REAL heroes!
Jamie.

722.14 | Dragon Killer (Maybe!) | UBOHUB::SHELDON_R | What A Marvellous Delivery! | Fri May 11 1990 10:35 | 14 |
|
I read in a magazine that to defeat a dragon cast the spell MON
ZO GOR SAR. Then freeze the game by pressing the ESC key. Holding
down the ALT key type in LORD LIBRASULUS SMITES THEE DOWN. If this
works you should kill the dragon and it will leave behind several
dragon steaks and the Firestaff so your party will become invincible
and you can win the game. I tried it but the message said that the
spell was meaningless perhaps you may have better luck.
Robert.
P.S. Swaff-) if you read this can you send me your full address
so I can send you the Chaos hints again.

Just a quick addendum to my last message, yuor party must be stood
IN FRONT of the dragon.

Help with the wizard section?!??
By the way, how the heck do you open the door to the REAL prisoners??!?
Please, I need help badly!
Tanks in advance
